Turkey
has a wealth of heritage sites and tourist attractions spread all over the
country so with tactical planning, you can easily plan your trip around the
country with minimal inconvenience. If you hire a private driver and guide then
it will be most informative for you and make transportation easier.
Furthermore, you can choose to cover distinct cities and regions by direction
or first arrive in country in Istanbul and then travel to the main
destinations.
If
you are travelling to Ephesus from Selçuk then you can just take a walk to the
ruins or you can borrow a bikes to have a nice trip with your friends or your
family. The distance is merely 4km so if the weather is good then choosing a
nice bike ride or a walk all the way to Ephesus will be pleasant. Another
option is hiring a taxi which is fairly costly but if you have already hired a
private driver with your trip then you won't have to pay the additional costs
for the taxi. Regardless of the cost, it is best to travel Ephesus Istanbul
together through taxi as the driver will drop you off at your hotel or your
meeting point and there will be less hassle of safety and accommodation. Also,
getting a taxi with a reputed company and licensed driver is indeed reliable if
you intend on taking through the local attractions.
Another
way is to travel through minibuses or shared taxi which you will find at Selçuk or Kusadasi and will
drop you around 1km from the ruins site. Then you can cover the remaining
distance by walking (less than 1km) and enter the ruins site by the lower gate.
You can also take a cruise from the Kusadasi port and take the Ephesus
excursion tour that the cruise ships organize and then go back to the ship for
continuing the tour or hire a taxi to take you other nearby locations. It is
best to travel Ephesus Istanbul and other nearby regions during the colder
months although the weather is quite pleasant through the rainy season as
well.
You
won't find summer too flattering though so it is best that you plan your trip
with About Ephesus during April, May or October and November. If you are keen
on travelling to Ephesus from Istanbul then you will have to decide between the
flight option or the roadway option. You can take a 9 hour bus or taxi driver
from Istanbul to Ephesus which is located 450 miles south of former. If you
don't want the hassle of overnight driving then taking a flight to Izmir from
Istanbul would be best suitable for your itinerary. It only takes around 45
minutes from the Izmir airport to Ephesus. While you arrive at the Izmir
airport, you can also travel to Selchuk and cover both locations on the same
day. Then you can easily walk to Ephesus from the town center which will only
take 30 minutes.
